Limits to review
Compressed text stays in place and is reported as unresolved. Automatic cleaning removes supported EXIF GPS, dates, device IDs, MakerNotes and JPEG thumbnails; unsupported nested or strip thumbnails are rejected.
PNG caBX Content Credentials are removed by default; use Cleaning settings to keep them. C2PA is not an AI verdict.

Questions about png metadata remover
Will PNG transparency be preserved?+
Yes, for files the cleaner supports. It copies the image and transparency data unchanged, then checks the new file again.
Does the tool remove every PNG text chunk?+
No. It removes only supported AI and privacy fields, plus embedded PNG Content Credentials by default. A Software field by itself is never treated as an AI workflow.
What happens to animated PNG files?+
Animation data stays in the file. If the tool cannot rewrite the PNG safely, it will not offer a download.
Is the PNG re-encoded?+
No. The cleaner rewrites supported metadata chunks without decoding or re-encoding the image data.
